Types of Drums
Most people don't know this, but there are many different types of drums. Most of them can

Snare Drum - The most common type of drum, it is used in symphonic orchestras as well as being a key component of a
drum set. These drums are usually high pitched, with metallic
snares lining the bottom the give the drum it's sound. Other

Bass Drum - Like the snare, the Bass Drum is used for a lot of different uses such as orchestras, drumlines, and is also a
major part of the drum-set. It has a very large and booming sound. Out of all the concert drums it is the easiest to play.

Roto-toms - People are meant to play with more than one

tuned to individual notes so that a bit of melody can be
carried. This is rare considering drums don't usually carry the melody.

Timpani - The timpani are the thunder behind any
symphony. they are usually played in groups of four, and
like the toms are each set to their own individual note.

Congas - Congas are one of the many types of drums that come from Africa. they are usually played in sets of 2 or 3. They are only used in symphony's that are based around a cultural perspective. They are heavily beat on during Drum-circles.
